Sushmita Ajwani is a renewable energy professional with nearly 20 years of experience spanning corporate renewable energy procurement, open access markets, power sector regulations, and commercial strategy. As the Head of Business Development (C&I) at Aditya Birla Renewables Limited (ABRen), she leads the development and execution of renewable energy solutions for commercial and industrial customers, helping businesses accelerate their transition towards cost-effective and sustainable energy procurement.
Her expertise lies in structuring and originating complex renewable energy transactions, including Open Access, Captive and Group Captive arrangements, Corporate PPAs, Hybrid Renewable Energy Projects, RTC/FDRE solutions, Virtual PPAs, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). She has successfully worked with large industrial and commercial consumers across sectors to optimize power costs, achieve sustainability goals, and navigate India’s evolving regulatory landscape.
Over the course of her career, Sushmita has advised leading renewable energy developers, utilities, corporations, and government institutions on market entry strategies, project development, regulatory compliance, power procurement, and transaction advisory. She has played a significant role in several pioneering renewable energy initiatives in India, including captive renewable projects, ISTS-based renewable energy procurement structures, and innovative corporate green power solutions.
